Hi everyone! Well that's absolutely true. But at times we realize how bad our deeds were, only after we see them done to us. I think there's another way to saying it similar to Jonathan's "Do as you would be done by". It's a great shame on any one w…

A film I watched: Bright Star

Last night I watched a wonderful film: "Bright Star" which tells the
life of John Keats, the greatest British Poet. His life was short and
full of sorrows and trouble, mainly financial and health ones. John
Keats literary works only got their due importance & became highly
appreciated and well received after his life. What a pity! he died
thinking his works were not worth reading...Here is one of his poems:

    Something I read today: Bono's 10 rules

I read very inconsistent article about the 10 Bono´s rules or opinions to global warning and global problems today (Bono, the singer, from the band U2). The most edifying part was about global warning, how we should to start to buy the ecological cars, dont produce too much garbage, how to spare electricity and energy, etc. and I have to confess, I didnt understand what this guy spoke about.

    Word of the day: crawl

Crawling is the action of moving on the floor on your hands and knees. The crawl is also a kind of swimming stroke: the one that is the fastest way to move in the water. Look at this guy doing the crawl. Perhaps he's late for work at the sea park.

    Word of the day: hug

A hug can express more things than you can say with words. There aren't bad hugs, everyone are good. They don't need energy or batteries you just need love. To give and receive bear hugs is an healthy habit that you have to practice every days in your life.

    Word of the day: yawn

The word yawn has the same sound as the first part of the word in morning. This is a good way to remember the pronunciation: yawning in the morning.

Some scientists believe that we don't just yawn when we are tired. They believe that we also yawn when our brains know that we need energy to do something else. The extra intake of oxygen helps us to be prepared and ready to do another thing. In other words, yawning can also be a sign that our… Continue

    Word of the day: frown

If someone is frowning and looking sad, people sometimes say in English "Why the sad/long face?" as a different way of saying "What's the matter?" or "What's wrong with you?"

There's a quite famous joke in English based on this expression.

A horse walks into a bar. (Many jokes start like this)
The barman says: "Why the long face?"

Of course, you could frown for many different reasons. You might be concentrating hard on something or perhaps you are just… Continue

What I did last night: Pub

Last night, I went to the pub to see my friend John. We chatted for a few hours and had a meal in the pub. He had chilli beef and I had chicken korma.

It was a nice evening but John was extremely tired because he'd been doing martial arts for three hours earlier in the day.

Still, it was a nice night out.

I read one very interesting article today called Constance Brown "Fish and chips legend", who died recently in the age 102 in Wales and inspite of she didnt work on it to be famous, she was success. She opened together with her husband a small Brown´s cafe in Pembroke when she was 21, and she worked there for her whole life. After death of her husband together with her son and his wife.

    Word of the day: sneeze

When people want to write the sound of a sneeze in a book they often write "A-Tishoo!" which is ironic because a tissue is what people often need when they sneeze.

There are many things that make me sneeze: of course pepper but also chemical substances like air freshener or furniture polish. For some reason, they really irritate my nose.

When I sneeze, I tend to sneeze very loudly and very often:… Continue
